Interference with crop dusting
Douglas County Land Owner
“We have an acquaintance who is a crop duster based in Kansas, but works in several neighboring states also. When he was asked how the wind mill farms affected his business he gave several examples of negative issues. First of all, he said that he can't guarantee the land owner that the treatment that he is spraying will NOT travel to other crops or fields. Depending on how and where the wind mills are arranged, it can be very difficult or even impossible to spray the fields. Because of the challenges that wind mills present, he said that he actually has to charge land owners in the vicinity of wind mills significantly more money.”
