Position Statement
Who We Are
Douglas County Rural Preservation Association is a group of engaged citizens that live and work in Douglas County, representing over 1,000 residents and 30,000 acres of land and growing.
We are dedicated to bringing public awareness, factual information, and a united outlook to residents of Douglas County regarding specific issues that we face together as a collective.
Geared toward citizen action, we are an organized community seeking accountability from elected officials and have increased direct representation within decision-making bodies.
We strive to create a positive public spirit by having deep respect and true listening for the needs of all people in this community.
Douglas County Rural Preservation Association has no political, religious, trade, or special interest affiliations.
We welcome anyone and everyone who believe that the livelihood and wellbeing of our residents, businesses, and land are valuable and integral in preserving our sense of place and protecting the identity of Douglas County.

Mission
Our purpose is to protect and preserve the residents, businesses, ecosystem, legacy, lifestyle and natural character of rural Douglas County for current and future generations.
We value sharing our knowledge, stories and inspiring people to act in order to bring our community together.
Position Statement
We support and encourage the use of solar and wind generation for use by individual landowners and businesses. We do not support industrial scale solar and wind projects due to the negative impact it will have on the residents of Douglas County.
